Prânâyâma: what is it? What is it for?

We talked about the yogic breathing and we appointed the Pranayama, but what is it? Prana is the vital energy that we need and that we can breathe and forfeited through the air and oxygen, but also recruit through food and drink. This energy is absorbed by the mucous membranes of the nose and respiratory tract receptors, while regarding foods and beverages are the nerve endings in the tongue and throat to absorb it.

The word consists of two parts: prana, which means vital energy, and “ayama”, which means glass. Pranayama techniques are many and have the aim of increasing, collect and maintain the vital energy to make us feel so much better!

Prana stabilizes the mind and awakens all those potential that our daily life makes us forget to have due to locations and awkward postures, stress, confusion … and thanks to pranayama techniques minimize the functions and the activity of the muscles, allowing greater oxygenation of tissues (skin, muscles and organs) the increased blood supply the heart rests and relaxes by changing rhythm, the organs are massaged by controlled breathing and different movement of the rib cage. Kidneys, spleen, immune, glandular system, memory (and may still) benefit.

Yoga is good, but especially for breathing techniques you need to follow from a teacher who can help in acquiring proper technique … good breathing at all!
