Boxing: to do that you have to have the skills

“My Boxer is good, is skillful moves well but is not able to keep your breath for all 3 rounds.”

Almost all teachers clashed with this problem, your student is very good technically, but then fails to stand up to the 12-minute (including intervals) of an amateur boxing match.

How come? Why so often?

If we exclude the debut in the ring. where the mental aspect counts a lot in terms of spending “of resources,” can we understand very well that this is a problem closely related to physical training.
We talk about capacity when it focuses on genetic or physical characteristics of an athlete, that is, that each of us possesses tank that allows us to learn and execute a shot.
If I have a car with a trunk small I can carry just the same example applies to a boxer; If my ability, I can develop few skills.

Often get confused the terms skills and capabilities, using them as synonyms, actually express two very different concepts.

We talked about “skill” defining them as motor actions (strikes) which through repetition and frequency are consolidated, this allows your body to work in Economics (compared to the first time we’re spending less energy to create them).

Specifically, what are capabilities?

Motor skills are divided into:

  • Conditional ability (strength, speed, and stamina);
  • Coordinative ability (balance, rhythm, reaction, combination, orientation etc..).

If the first, as the name suggests, are conditioned through exercise (obviously planned and scientific) the latter find their maximum cognitive development in the age group of between 7 and 13 years old, so if you did a lot of sport and movement by young people today will definitely benefit.
If you spent your youth in front of console, mobile phones or get anything (any reference to their children is purely coincidental), it is highly likely that you will not be able to develop great sports performance.

Strength, speed and endurance are the basis of any combat sport, in boxing you speak of rapidity because while speed was referred to cyclic gestures (eg: running, rowing, jump) that can be measured, one hit instead is acyclic never repeats exactly.
From a perspective of periodization, studied in relation to major sporting events, we try to work in such a way as to increase these parameters, especially during high-volume non-specific preparation.
